What products do you use?
I take great pride in creating beautiful skin and to achieve this I use Clarins, Mac and NARS. I also use Bobbi Brown,
Clinique, Dior and Estee Lauder among others. All the products Megan uses are tried and tested through years of experience
on brides and fashion sets.
Will my makeup last all day?
Your eye makeup will remain intact as waterproof products and an eyeshadow primer are used. I can purchase for you
a touch-up kit that includes your lip colour, a lip brush and blotting papers to keep you looking fresh all day. It is also
recommended that you purchase a translucent powder. I do use a spritz with a long-lasting fixative spray that ensures
your make-up does not "move" on your face. Because of my extensive background in makeup for photography, I use products that
will stay put with minimal touch-ups and that will look beautiful on camera.
What should I do before a trial or my wedding day to prep for my appointment?
Give your face a light exfoliation the night before with a damp terry towel cloth, gently buffing away any dead skin. If
you’re having your hair done on your wedding day, wash your hair in the morning and let it air dry.
It’s very important you come to your appointment with freshly washed, air dried hair and a clean face.
Should I have a fake tan / wax / skin peel before my wedding day?
I will run through the logistics of your appointments with you before your wedding day. There’s a different time
frame for each and it’s very important to time them correctly. Make sure to let me know about your appointments
at your trial.
How many people can I book for?
I can accommodate bookings for makeup for up to five people. I can also accommodate bookings for makeup for up
to eight people but a separate make-up artist will be needed.
Can I book Samantha exclusively for my wedding day?
If you have a large wedding party and you would like your booking to be the only one of your wedding date, please
inquire about my exclusive wedding day rate, which enables me to be with you for between 6 – 8 hours,
including preparation, touch ups after your ceremony and potential look changes.
How does timing work on the day?
It’s important that you let me know what time you need to be ready by upon booking. Start times may vary within
reason depending on schedule but you’ll be completed in plenty of time in a relaxed and carefree manner.
It takes about 1 hour, 15 mins for makeup and hair, or 40 minutes each. The bride’s makeup and/or hair is performed
second last, so you’re fresh but there’s no rush.
When is my booking confirmed?
Your wedding date is confirmed when your R500 booking fee is paid.
